Beginning teachers must adjust to the pace of the school day, the demands of record keeping, complex issues of classroom management, multiple learning styles, and high-stakes accountability. The column on the right features links to selected resources that will assist new teachers in facing the challenges of becoming accomplished teachers.

A collection of tips submitted by first year teachers and mentors who participated in Western's CSBT online support program are additional resources that build on the Charlotte Danielson's Framework for Teaching (2007) as an organizing structure:

* Teacher Tips: A Collection of Ideas, Plans, and Strategies for New Teachers by New Teachers

* Supporting New Teachers: Tips for Mentors

Also visit Western's Hunter Library for a list of resources by program.
