Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST) :

PPST stands for Pre-Professional Skills Tests and is also referred to as Praxis I: Academic Skills Tests in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics.

The State Board of Education sets minimum scores that students must meet for admission to teacher education. The tests are administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and can be completed in a paper-and-pencil format at scheduled times during the year.

To register go to www.ets.org.

For assistance with Praxis I(PPST) Test Preparation, please visit the following web address: www.ceap.wcu.edu/ppst.htm

For assistance preparing for Praxis II which is different for different areas, go to the website below (NC requirements on the ETS site), you should find the test you are interested in and click on the test number.  That will lead you to Tests at a Glance which is a full explanation of the test, content covered, and sample questions with answers.  Some preparation books available through bookstores use this information.
