SAS in School Software Collaboration

Many educational resources can be used as a source of content for the development of databases. The SAS in School Software Collaboration is one such current example. SAS Institute is a software company headquartered in North Carolina. With the support of special grants, they began giving access to newly developed software for public schools to various teacher education campuses in the North Carolina university system. This software was developed with grades 9-12 in mind but will contain resources that are also useful for middle level teaching. This software was designed for viewing and interaction on high-speed broadband type networks, not for home 56KB telephone modems.

In August of 2003, Bank of America provided a grant that made the SAS in School Software collection available for free to all educators in the state of North Carolina for two years, through 2004-2005. North Carolina educators should consult with your institutional curriculum director or technology director for username and password

Description of their products and plans can be reached by anyone at:

Access to specific software programs for social studies will require access to password information that you will receive in class. As soon as you click the link, the screen will request that password information.  Ask your course instructor for the necessary username and password.
