7. Read: DOE Media Education, Arts, and Literacy Project, research into the educational value of the media arts. It is a requirement to read just this executive summary; optional: read the full descriptions of this project from the available links.

8. Skim and Browse.  The Multimedia Project of WNC . Note that Asheville's Chamber of Commerce is aggressively working to attract multimedia companies to this area. This is part of a regional five year strategic plan currently being implemented.

9. Assignment. Send me an email with three ideas for course project themes. One or more themes will be used as the topic around which to build multimedia materials.

10. As Centra plays a critical role in classroom management, it would be useful to review Centra features. Click through this quick set of Centra Live Tutorial pages for the "Virtual Class" to see if there are any features that you have missed. Experiment with the Playback option of the last class session by logging in to Centra, clicking the Past tab and then clickingg the Playback link. Use this Playback tutorial page to review the Playback controls.

11. Click the picture in the upper left corner frame. If this picture is not visible, return to step one above and click the second link in the multimedia design introduction. Electronic engineers and designers have been merging PDA's or handheld computers with cell phone concepts into products called Smartphones. The picture links to the most recent innovation in this area, the iPhone from Apple Computer. This goes on for an hour. Watch the first ten minutes of this market introduction to this new product to get the main idea. If there are problems playing the video link, skim the iPhone web pages. This link makes another point. Any web page in a frame can contain text and other media with links that place other text and media in any frame. The information can be your own web pages, or web pages from other web sites.

12. View these blog sites of mine. iThink Blog ; Unimedia Composers. Find a post and add a comment.

13. Understand the blog concept and create your own blog site with which to experiment with the ideas encountered in this course.
