Rankings The List of Recommendations:
UNC should improve the quantity, quality, and geographic distribution of public school teachers.
UNC should help address the shortage of science and math teachers, especially in rural areas.
UNC should strengthen efforts, in cooperation with the North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges and the Community College System, the North Carolina Board of Education, and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, to enhance the teaching skills of public school faculty and the leadership skills of public school administrators.
UNC should leverage its expertise and increase collaborations with the State Board of Education and Department of Public Instruction to lower our state’s dropout rate and improve academic achievement in all North Carolina Public School, especially those that are high-priority and low-performing.
UNC should strengthen partnerships with the State Board of Education, the N.C.
